Uses: Glyoxal is mainly used in the following aspects:

1. Pharmaceutical and chemical industry: It is mainly used in the production of glyoxylic acid, 2-methylimidazole, imidazole, ethambutol, quinoxaline, 2-hydroxypyrazine, hydroxyethyl cellulose, etc. Especially glyoxylic acid has been widely used in recent years in p-hydroxyphenylglycine, p-hydroxyphenylacetic acid, allantoin, vanillin, resulting in double growth of glyoxylic acid consumption.

2. Textile and dyeing: Glyoxal and its derivatives are used as fiber finishing agents in textile industry. They can increase shrink resistance, wrinkle resistance, washing and ironing resistance of cotton, nylon and other fibers. They are compressive and ironing finishing agents, such as SR fabric finishing agents, PN resin finishing agents, M2D resin finishing agents and printing and dyeing balance agents.

3. Light industry: In paper production, glyoxal added to sizing agent can improve the wet-dry strength and tensile strength of paper, increase its wrinkle resistance by 2-3 times, and can also be used as binder and water-resistant agent for coated paper coating, production of carbon-free copy paper, etc.

4. Petroleum industry: the mixture of ethyl aldehyde two and clay and soda powder is used for drilling in oil field with good gel strength.

5. Other industries: For example, in the coating production of building materials industry, glyoxal can make the coating brightness high, strength good, aging resistance strong, and the strength of cement concrete production can be increased by 30-50% after adding glyoxal.

Matters needing attention:
