1. Risk overview
Health hazards: Inhalation, intake or skin absorption are harmful to human body. It can irritate the skin and cause dermatitis. Steam or mist can irritate the eyes, mucosa and upper respiratory tract.
Environmental hazards: It is harmful to the environment and can cause pollution to the atmosphere.
Burning and Explosion Danger: This product is toxic and irritating.
2. Fire control measures
Hazard characteristics: strong reducibility. Combustion and explosion can be caused by high heat, open fire, oxidant, fuming sulfuric acid and chlorosulfonic acid. Contact with water can cause drastic polymerization and self-agglomeration during storage and use.
Harmful combustion products: carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide.
Fire extinguishing methods: Firefighters should wear gas masks, wear full body fire fighting clothes, and put out fire in the upper wind direction. Move the container from the fire to the open space as far as possible. Spray water to keep the fire container cool until the fire is over. Containers in the fire site must be evacuated immediately if they have discolored or produce sound from safety relief devices.
Fire extinguishing agents: fog water, foam, dry powder, carbon dioxide and sand.
3. Emergency measures
Skin contact: Remove contaminated clothes and rinse with plenty of flowing water.
Eye contact: Lift the eyelids and rinse them with flowing water or saline. Seek medical advice.
Inhalation: Departure from site to fresh air. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Seek medical advice.
Intake: Drink plenty of warm water and vomit. Seek medical advice.
4. Emergency treatment of leakage
Emergency treatment: Quickly evacuate personnel from the leak contaminated area to the safety zone, and isolate them, strictly restrict access. Cut off the fire. It is suggested that emergency personnel wear self-supporting positive pressure respirators and anti-virus clothing. Cut off the source of leakage as far as possible. If it is liquid, it should be prevented from flowing into the restricted space such as sewer, drainage ditch and so on.
Small leakage: mix with sand, dry lime or soda ash. It can also be washed with a large amount of water and diluted into the wastewater system.
Massive leakage: building embankments or digging pits for shelter. Cover with foam to reduce steam damage. Pumps are transferred to tank trucks or special collectors for recycling or transporting to waste disposal sites for disposal. If solid, mix with sand, dry lime or soda ash. If a large number of leaks occur, they can be collected and recycled or transported to waste disposal sites for disposal.
5. Operational Disposal and Storage
Operation Notes: Closed operation, attention to ventilation. Operators must be specially trained and strictly abide by the operating rules. Operators are advised to wear self-priming filter dust-proof masks, chemical safety glasses, anti-drug penetration work clothes and rubber gloves. Keep away from fire and heat sources. Smoking is strictly prohibited in the workplace. Use explosion-proof ventilation system and equipment. Prevent smoke or dust from leaking into the workplace air. Avoid contact with oxidants and alkalis. Handling should be light loading and unloading to prevent damage to packaging and containers. Equipped with the corresponding variety and quantity of fire fighting equipment and leakage emergency treatment equipment. Empty containers may retain harmful substances.
Storage Notes: Commodities are usually diluted and stored. Store in a cool, ventilated warehouse. Keep away from fire and heat sources. Storage temperature should not exceed 30 C. Packaging should be sealed and not exposed to air. It should be stored separately from oxidants, alkalis and edible chemicals. Mixed storage should not be avoided. Explosion-proof lighting and ventilation facilities are adopted. It is forbidden to use mechanical equipment and tools prone to sparks. The storage area shall be equipped with emergency leak handling equipment and suitable storage materials.
